Was definitely slow to begin with and hard to see a plot forming but the more I got into it the more i loved it. I have never been so affeced by a storyline that the ending made me sob and made me feel physically sick. The book was a brilliant coming of age book and I believe the closer you are to that age the more you will probably resonate with the characters and their reasonings. I was invested with the main characters and was just itching for them to interact. There were some aspects I thought were a little bit rushed but I think it is well worth the read and I'm excited to read the second book. ( )

3.5. The tiaras… ok fine I accept it. I’m an easy crier and didn’t cry at this book, which disappointed me. I loved books like this when I was 15. ( )

This was going to be a 3 star rating, but then I actually really liked the ending, so I gave it another half a star. I think it's worth reading and it is a fast read, but it definitely reads like a YA, which I didn't ding it for...because it is a YA. I think YA's just don't always sit well with me. The immaturity bothers me sometimes and makes me not like the main characters as much. SPOILER: However, she does do a good job of the build up Finny's and Autumn's relationship. I didn't see him dying at the end, until they had sex and he was leaving, and then I remembered the beginning and the car accident and I'm like, I bet he dies. However, stupidly, I didn't see the pregnancy coming at all. Silly, silly me. I should've. There's a book 2 coming out next week from Finn's perspective and maybe I'll listen to it at some point, but I doubt it! ( )

My first DNF of the year.

I struggled to connect with this book and its characters. The female lead was incredibly irritating, and everything she did or said grated on my last nerve. The constant "I love yous" felt forced and insincere, appearing to be more for Autumn's benefit than genuine feelings towards Jaime. I just couldn't see the connection between them.

I ended up giving up on this book halfway through. It's amusing because I was initially excited to read it, especially with the companion piece releasing next month. However, now I'm unsure if I'll even bother picking it up.
