The Danube, the only one of Europe's rivers to run east to west, winds through ten countries, carrying the rich histories and myths of many cultures with its currents. Two photographers, Sophie Ristelhueber from France and Iosif Kiraly from Romania, took a journey to explore the state of the river today, one embarking at its eastern mouth and the other at the west, both working their way toward the middle. Their travels took them to dockyards, cities, industrial sites and seaports and into the quiet waters of the delta. Their contemporary images are complemented by a selection of historical prints from the Vienna Technical Museum. Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |
