Amber Walker and her older brother, Jake, have an abusive father. One night, her brother's best friend, Liam, sees her crying and climbs through her bedroom window to comfort her. That one action sparks a love/hate relationship that spans over the next eight years. Liam is now a confident, flirty player who has never had a girlfriend before. Amber is still emotionally scarred from the abuse she suffered at the hands of her father. Together they make an unlikely pair. Their relationship has always been a rocky one, but what happens when Amber starts to view her brother's best friend a little differently? And how will her brother, who has always been a little overprotective, react when he finds out that the pair are growing closer?… (plus d'informations)

No. Just no. I really can't think of any words to describe how horrible this book was. Granted, the storyline was nice, but it was terribly put together. 4.05. Really? just stop. PLEASE! ( )

I really enjoyed the story. If there had not been so many grammatical, spelling , and missing word type errors I think I would have been able to enjoy the book much more. A good edit would greatly improve this book. ( )

I almost DNF this but managed to push through. This was really rough, it almost read like a story some teenager wrote and put up on Wattpad. Like ‘I know I want my MC to have to deal with almost being raped and being constantly molested by her father, because then she’ll have a tough tourted past’ but then the author obviously never did any research on the subject matter. I promise you a girl that is constantly molested and has a fear of touch is not going to be ready for sex with her bf after one week, regardless of how long they’ve known each other. The MC never went to therapy and her ‘breakdowns’ if we can call them that were minimal and almost in my opinion disrespectful to people who really have survived situations like this. As you can tell this happens to be one of my pet peeves, if you haven’t experienced something like this and you don’t want to put time into researching and interviewing to show it correctly, then don’t touch the subject matter.

Another less grievous issue was dialogue. People write differently then they speak, it’s just a fact so when your dialogue constantly sounds like some English paper prose it’s a little off putting. For instance there’s one paragraph the MC uses the word quite 3 times all right together .... I love the word quite and use it frequently when I text or write.... but I promise I’m quite (; sure I’ve never used it that many times in a row while speaking.

Over all bad writing, bad plot, cringey eye rolling moments galore and one of the worst books I’ve ever read dealing with a survivor or rape/abuse. ( )

Cute love story. There are some serious topics tackled in the book, but its well done. The love between Liam and Amber is adorable. The book was predictable and everything, but if you are looking for a sweet, romantic, love story, this is a great book. I read it in one sitting. ( )

Honestly, I wanted to love this book. But we never got there. The story, while I get it's a story is super hard to believe. Also the heroine in this book made me want to kick a puppy. It just seemed so wishy washy all the way around. I gave it three stars because it did have some good moment, but overall, it was just not a story for me. ( )
