( ) I enjoyed these characters. It is an awfully repetitive book however, though that's more the fault of the editor I think, than Heath. It seemed like every notion was echoed about six times. And the word "proper" was used about a thousand. The part between where the reader realizes that their only chance at happiness is with each other and them realizing it seemed to drag on an especially long while. I started to feel very 'one of you come to your senses already!'. It just needed more editing all around. But the plot was fine, I liked the characters, and there was good humor and seduction. Quite sad and beautiful. A near perfect historical romance novel. Completely without the humour I've come to enjoy from Tessa Dare and others, so it is good to see plenty of entertainment is possible without that big dash of humour in the historical romance genre. Ann and Tristan and their competing goals in life made for a good tussle in spite of the rather too much repetition of their declared positions. I've just read the other comments and the word Romancelandia (LadyWesley) - I haven't heard that term before but it perfectly describes this book. And the other phrase used by lesmel about "the convenience fairy" is also exactly my thought about - but it's interesting that we all agree that despite this it is a good read! There is something touching yet wild about it. I see many people know of Lorraine Heath but she hadn't come to my notice before. The first half of the story was so completely meh. Didn't connect with Anne and her journey to say goodbye to Walter. The second half was more enjoyable to read with Tristan and Anne connecting in various places around London. Overall all though, nothing new, fresh, or exciting. *Will be looking for the third book to come out in this series however, I must know Rafe's story. I'm completely O.C.D. like that :/ aucune critique | ajouter une critique

HTML: "Lorraine Heath's books are always magic." "[Heath's] deftly skilled story-telling entrances and enthralls from the first page to last." Historical romance readers just can't get enough of the Lost Lords of Pembrook. In her previous book, She Tempts the Duke, New York Times bestselling author Lorraine Heath introduced three brooding and intensely passionate brothers determined to reclaim their stolen birthright, as their righteous quest inadvertently leads each one down a separate path to true love. The story continues with Heath's Lord of Temptation, as a dark and dangerous lord hardened by a life at sea sets his sights on one virtuous woman who, unlike so many of his conquests, would deny him what he hungers for most. When it comes to creating breathtaking love stories, irresistible rogue heroes, and heart-stopping sensuality, Lorraine Heath always delivers—and this Lord is one temptation no romance lover should resist...especially fans of Lisa Kleypas and Liz Carlyle!
