Mi dispiace davvero dare una valutazione negativa a questo libro che aveva tutte le carte un regola per essere molto interessante. Quello che mi ha dato più fastidio è stato l'innamoramento di Gray e la descrizione del mondo fantastico.

Per quanto riguarda la seconda, la storia è ambientata nel nostro mondo e nel nostro tempo, ma abbiamo la presenza di alcune creature magiche: vampiri, maghi, licantropi e demoni. La storia d'amore sboccia tra un licantropo - Gray - e un apprendista mago - Simon. Ora, un lettore si aspetta una descrizione e una costruzione di un mondo fantastico coesistente, ma la Dennison ce ne dà giusto un assaggino. Troppo poco per soddisfare la curiosità dei lettori.

Per quanto riguarda l'innamoramento di Gray, invece, è necessario fare una premessa. Gray era sposato e ha un figlio. Quindi si presume che pensasse di essere etero. Quindi non si capisce come mai non si faccia problemi a innamorarsi di Simon. E non si capisce come mai non si faccia dei problemi a mettersi un casa un nuovo patner con un figlio piccolo (anche se quest'ultimo adora Simon). Ci si aspetterebbe qualche riflessione in più...

Uno degli aspetti che ho maggiormente apprezzato di questo romanzo è stata proprio la presenza dei bambini. Spesso si rivelano molto più spassosi dei genitori, oltre che più "moderni" e allo stesso tempo attenti alle tradizioni che vengono loro insegnate a scuola (i cuccioli di licantropo studiano privatamente presso un'insegnante "licantropa" finché non hanno l'età per capire che non possono fare sfoggio della loro licantropia davanti a tutti!). ( )

This book starts with Simon, a mage, rescuing 5 shifter children from a demon. Who wouldn’t love this man for that alone? Maybe it was an emotional day or something, but I cried through the first half of this book. “Oh, he hears the children crying for help”, (sob) “the oldest child is grateful and helps with the rescue”, (sob) “the children help Simon when he’s hit with a spell by the demon”, (sob) “the children make Simon a friend of their pack”, (sob). Oi.
This turned into a one sitting read when the mage and the werewolf Alpha become an item, and the demon comes back and something is strange with the magic.
Entangled, enthralling, and enticing. And some sexy hot scenes too. And the ten year old werewolf getting up at dawn and trying to mediate with Simon but falling asleep? Adorable.

This was truly a fascinating world. I love seeing the way that magic works in this world. I think Simon and Gray are pretty much perfect for each other. I can't wait to see what happens next. ( )
