My Name is Alice is filled with animals that come from different states and countries all around the world. Along with learning the alphabet this would be a creative way to teach the kids about animals and where they come from. Another thing I liked about this book were the use of each letter in various way for example the letter A represented Alaska, Apes, and Anteaters. This book was easily read by my six-year-old, as she is an excellent reader for her age, but would be difficult for most young children to read independently because of the unusual vocabulary even with the well-done illustrations, but it could easily be memorized and then used as an early reader to build confidence, as it is sing-songy and repetitive. I definitely wouldn't classify it as an informational text, but there are supplemental facts at the back of the book about some of the more unusual animals listed in the book. This was also fun for my daughter and other young students to read because the classic car ride game on which this alphabet book is based is commonly known. The illustrations are well done also, and could be helpful for a slightly more advanced reader to help in decoding the words, except for the very obscure ones. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
