A story that took me by surprise after I started reading it. I wasn't expecting to travel so far from where the book started, on the range in Virginia City, Montana. Nor did I expect the main character, Charlotte Spence, to be who she was. It made for a very interesting story.

Zeph Parker, owner of the Bar Zee Ranch finds 2 children alone and very fearful. The kids had seen the notorious 'Angel of Death' massacre their folks. Now he is out to find the children and get rid of them. Zeph takes them to a rancher, Charlotte Spence, who is determined to see these kids united with relatives in Pennsylvania, and she wants Zeph to go with her and the children and disguise themselves as husband and wife with 2 children on the train ride there.

It is a wild train ride and the beginning of a beautiful romance. But danger and death are following them and a secret Charlotte has that is "too shameful to share". A story that has lots of action and adventure. ( )
