This book is about a girl who has trouble deciding what to paint for her school art show. She wants to paint "the most wonderful painting that has ever been painted"; however, she quickly realizes it is not as easy as she expected and doesn't know where to start. She is frustrated, but her mother comes in at the end with words of wisdom for her, "you can only begin at the beginning", This leads to Sara painting the tree right outside of her window. I feel we have all been in this situation at some point during school where we want to do the biggest and best project, but we don't realize the simplest thing can be the best project. This is a book that I feel is good for students to read due to the fact they may face frustration over assignments in their school days, so they may be able to reflect on this book and spark their creativity. Sara is a creative child, she likes to do art because that´s the only way where she can express whatever she thinks. However, Sara doesn´t like when people say to her what to do. During Dinner Sara´s mom was telling her what to eat and Sara got mad and she left sara though she was right but after her mom talked to her she reflected and she knew adults could be right as well

The book Begin and the Beginning: A Little Artist Learns about Life is a story about a young girl names Sara who is chosen by her art teacher to draw the most wonderful paining for the second-grade art show. Sara has already had a bad day and is now more frustrated because she has no idea what she will draw and wants it to be perfect. Sara decides to draw the whole universe but then begins to think how she will paint something so big. Sara is given advice from family and friends and seems frustrated because she still doesn't know what to do.

The end of the story is what makes this story great! Sara finally draws something and it is a simple but pretty tree. I like this story because I remember a time when I tried to make something so perfect and felt frustrated but then in the end it all worked out.

This would be a good story for an art teacher to read to his or her class. I like this book because it shows not everyone is perfect. ( )
