Romance. Young Adult Fiction. Young Adult Literature. HTML:It's steamy in the Gulf town of Sea Breeze. Physical attraction is the only way to beat the heat in this second book of the Sea Breeze series from bestselling, previously self-published author Abbi Glines.
Playboy Cage owns the apartment, and he hosts a revolving door of people, in and out, at all times. Most of them are long-legged hot girls who are never there more than a night or two. When Cage's new roommate, Marcus, enters the picture, he's just looking to nurse a broken heart. But there's one particular semi-frequent regular who catches his eye.

Willow??"Low"??is the one Cage wants to marry. But the two of them are night and day, and Marcus can't see how Low puts up with all of Cage's womanizing. What she really needs is a real man....like good-looking and sensible Marcus. But that's going to get real complicated and real messy??r

Low has been through so much. People are always leaving her which makes it hard for her to open up and trust anyone. She only trust Cage and that's because he's been her best friend and rock since they were little kids and he's never once let her down. But then she starts to find herself wanting to trust Marcus, even though she knows people like Marcus don't get with girls like Low. Lower class. But even though she feels that way she can't help but want to be with him. Low is such a nice girl especially when you compare her to her gold digging sister. Her sister is horrible and unfortunately the only family Low has besides her niece whom her sister neglects a lot. Her sister obviously only cares about herself and her daughter is an afterthought. Thank goodness Low cares too much about her niece to let her sister get away with it.

Marcus is perfection. He's a good guy and I love books about good guys getting the girl. I didn't read the first book in the series where Marcus first made an appearance but I know that he got his heart broken after the girl he wanted didn't return the feelings. But thankfully in this book he's over her and isn't even remotely interested in her. People automatically try to make Marcus seem like some rich kid who's never had a care in the world but he couldn't be more the opposite. Yes he's rich but he's been surviving on his own since he graduated high school. And now his family just got torn apart. I loved the way Marcus feels the need to help everyone and the way he treats his mother and sister. He's so considerate, thoughtful, and loyal I couldn't think of a guy more deserving for a happy ending then him. Of course, even though I think he's perfect he's actually not which means he makes a couple mistakes that came dangerously close to ruin his relationship with Low.

A lot of people didn't like Cage and disliked that he was such a man whore but I actually liked Cage. He may be a man whore but he cares very deeply for Low and puts her above everything else. His idea that he would marry Low one day was ridiculous but I understand that he's just scared to lose her. Cage seems like one of those guys who sleep around because they think something like love is out of reach for them. I can tell he has some serious issues and a bad childhood so I'm really looking forward to reading his book.

So much drama unfolds in this book and I honestly felt unsure how this book would end. Marcus and Low's relationship has it's high and low points and those steamy moments they shared throughout the book aren't leaving my mind anytime soon. I've never read anything from Abbi Glines but I'm definitely going to check out more of her books. Because of Low was amazing and I'd recommend this to all contemporary lovers. ( )

In this book Marcus, who was broken-hearted after Sadie chose Jax in Breathe, gets his happily ever after with Willow, or Low. Willow has had a hard life, abandoned by her parents and sister, poor and no place to go. Low moves in with her best friend Cage, who happens to be Marcus's roommate. I liked Low, but she was a little over dramatic. She jumped to conclusions and didn't let Marcus explain things. She was quick to forgive him, though and really cared for her niece and friends. Marcus wasn't the best boyfriend at first. He left Low alone to help another girl who was clearly into him and didn't realize how it would appear to Low, especially with her lack of self esteem. He did love Low and tried to be good to her and they finally got on the same page.
At times I was frustrated with the lack of communication between Low and Marcus, but what's a romance without some struggles first? I'm happy we got to see more of Sadie and Jax and they seem to be doing well. The alternating points of view is always a plus and the audiobook was well done. ( )

In my debut novel, Breathe, Sadie may have fallen in love with the teen rock star, Jax Stone, but readers fell head over heels for Marcus Hardy. This is his story…

Marcus Hardy had hoped to enjoy a year away at college while he put the summer he’d rather forget behind him. But instead, he’s jerked right back to the coastal town of Sea Breeze, Alabama due to a family crisis. His dear ol' dad found himself a girlfriend only a few years older than Marcus. So now his sister needs help dealing with their mother who is mentally falling apart. The only bright spot to returning is the fascinating red head who sleeps over several times a week. The problem is she's sleeping in bed with his new roommate, Cage York.

Willow “Low” Foster needs a place to live. Running to Cage’s apartment every time her sister kicks her out isn’t exactly a long term solution. Juggling her courses at the local community college and a part time job doesn’t produce excess income. But Cage has a new roommate and suddenly sleeping over at her best friend’s apartment isn’t such a bad thing. Not when she gets to see those sexy green eyes of Marcus Hardy’s twinkle when he smiles at her like he wants her there.
Even though Cage seems a little territorial where Low is concerned, Marcus finds time to spend with Low without upsetting his roommate. Cage may use his small college baseball star persona to sleep with every hot female in his path but he’s still under the disillusion that when he’s through sowing his wild oats, he’s going to marry Low. Marcus intends to change that assumption for both Cage and Low. Until his carefully laid plans come crashing down with a revelation he never expected. He’ll have to choose between Low or his family. Because once the truth comes out.... there’s no other choice.

“I’m not done here. I’m just beginning, Low. But I couldn’t walk away again without that kiss.”

So first we have Marcus. Sweet, caring and probably my new book boyfriend. He has an instant connection with Willow, even though he knows nothing about her or her past.

Then we have Willow. Sweet, innocent and had a very rough past. She is so close with Cage but Cage is a huge Manwhore. Willow has had a rough life and she knows that Cage is always there for her when she needs someone. When something goes wrong with her sister he is always there. She also has an instant attraction to Marcus (I mean who wouldn’t).

At first the two are hesitant to take the next step. Willow has Cage in her head telling her that she is not good enough for Marcus because his family has money. Marcus proves Cage wrong, he wants nothing more in his life then to be with Willow and make her happy. Their relationship is fun and oh so sweet.

Willow deserved so much more in life than that. She was smart, funny, real, so incredibly sexy—she wasn’t someone’s standby, dammit.

Throughout the book as their relationship grows there are family issues each deal with. Marcus with his dad cheating on his mama and leaving her. Willow with her stupid sister Tawny always leaving her with her niece and being a horrible mother and an even worse sister. Willow gets to finally meet Tawny’s new boyfriend, an older man. She is grossed out and even more so when she finds out her sister’s new boyfriend is her niece dad and has his own family already. Coming from an affair herself she is floored and disgusted by this.

I don’t want to go into much more and give away the Major twist in this book. Definitely a great read and I love how easy the relationship is and comes for these two.
