I have another book to suggest for those who like dark mysteries. . had goosepimples allover my body and the hair stood up on the back of my neck. . . scary, but not so bad that I couldn't read it . The book was Dark Bayou by Nancy K. Duplechain. . fascinating read. I have just purchased the sequel of the Dark trilogy, Carnival, and cannot wait until I get home to get it downloaded on my Kindle Fire. These were purchased through Amazon.com (Kindle). I do not believe the third book has been released yet. This is an anthology of true murder cases in Louisiana. Some are solved, some are still open. The murder of Huey Long made headlines, others are ordinary citizens who were brutally murdered. In one case, the police felt they had solved the case, went to trial, but the jury found the person not guilty. They had a good lawyer and a sympathetic jury. This is a quick and fun read through true murder cases. It started out very clipped. The writer stated that Leigh would walk or turn or tell you what they saw like a tree with Spanish moss just with no adjectives or good flow....it seemed disconnected. As they wrote the story, though, they found better ways to describe the action in a way that you could feel you were there. Before, it felt like reading a transcript with no emotion, but it developed somewhat. Hopefully with the next book the writer will make the flow more vivid and involved for the readers. Leigh had left Lousiana many years ago, trying to forget the bayou and all it's memories. But then the unthinkable happened and Leigh found herself right back in the heart of bayou country trying to protect her niece. With a ornery grandma, a psychic preacher and a voodoo queen, Leigh and her friend Lucas will try to figure out why all of the sudden, strange happenings are going on in their little town and how they will stop a doomed future. aucune critique | ajouter une critique
