Fiction. Literature. Romance. HTML:

You know, being friends with two cute boys does have its benefits.

There's Danny. Danny is a golden boy in every way. He has dreamy blue eyes and blonde hair that always looks perfect, even when it's windblown or been stuck under a football helmet. He's the boy every girl crushes on. The boy I get into trouble with, the boy I fight with, the hot quarterback no girl can resist. Being with Danny is like being on an adventure. He has a bright, contagious smile and abs to die for.

Equally crush worthy is Phillip. Adorable, sweet Phillip, who I have known since birth. Phillip has dark hair, a perfect smile, brown eyes, and the sexiest voice I have ever heard. He's the boy I talk to every night before I go to sleep. The boy who rescues me, the boy who can read my mind, the boy who is always there for me, the boy who tries to keep me out of trouble, the boy who irritatingly keeps getting hotter, and whose strong arms always seem to find their way around me. And when he gives me that grin, I can never say no.

One boy will give me my very first kiss. One boy will teach me to make out. One boy will take me to prom. And finally, one boy will ask me to marry him.

They will both be my best friends. But only one of them will be the boy I fall in love with. Only one of them is that boy.

I found it childish. Just not for me.

I just chose this book for a challenge and was pleasantly surprised at how much I enjoyed this book. This was a free book for me on Kindle.

That Boy follows Jayden James (aka JJ), and Phillip through their years. I loved how the book began with Jj running out on Phillip after he proposed to her. JJ then goes through how she ended up at this point in her life.

JJ and Phillip were childhood friends and best friends. Then their friendship adds another best friend Danny. JJ is a tomboy and good a sports. This story takes place in Nebraska and is really entertaining. This book even made me wish that I had that friendship with a guy that JJ and Phillip have with each other.

There is one sad part in this book and I cried!! I don't want to spoil it but just a forewarning about some tears being shed. I even shed some happy tears! ( )

Very good book. A trio of best friends. One being a girl but a hell of a tomboy. Doesn't want to believe she is in love with her bestfriend. They go all through high school and her one best friend always drops everything for her and she never sees it. The other best friend is there for her and she wants him so badly but he falls for someone else. I won't give away the rest :) ( )

Really loved Jillian's stories. You fall in love with the characters and watch them grow.

JJ Reynolds is your typical girl going through life with the exception of her two totally hot BFF's Phillip and Danny. As you are reading you are watching JJ grow up from a little girl to a young woman. You watch her struggles through tragedy to triumph. ( )

Overall a decent story, but it was a little long. There were parts where I kept thinking ok get on with it, move along. And JJ kinda bugged me too... there was a point in the story where she was talking to one of Phillip's girlfriends on the phone, and she mentioned this girl talks a lot and babbles, but I feel like JJ rambled on and on sometimes too (hence the story being a little long). But I did like that she was a tomboy and didn't apologize for it, but was proud of it (like me). My favorite part of the book was when she was upset that Phillip was playing football with Danny, and she had that little chat with her dad then went over and kicked Danny's a$$! That is totally something I would have done! The friendship between Danny, Phillip and JJ was great, and I'm glad they are still good friends, and that it wasn't turned into a love triangle. I don't think I could have finished the book if it had been. ( )
