FFortuna: Stupidest Angel is a Christmas book and further on the spectrum of craziness, but the two have similar types of humor. The movie star in Agent to the Stars also reminds me a bit of Molly Michon from Stupidest Angel.
Dr.Science: The English author Tom Holt is relatively unknown in America, but very popular in England. If you enjoy Jasper Fforde or Christopher Moore you will most certainly enjoy Tom Holt's wry sense of English humor and the absurd. I started reading this a long while ago, then stopped, and restarted just in time for christmas.
Moore once again leads us to Pine Cove and its quirky inhabitants and throws in some supernatural stuff to get the action started. It is a lot of fun. ( )
This was my first foray into the world of Christopher Moore... and just what I needed in the holiday hub-bub. So over the top. Just the kind of thing you want to listen to (I listened in the car) or read when you've gotten stuck in mall traffic or are getting cranky about Christmas shopping. ( )
Do you really need to know more than the author is Christopher Moore? It's Christmas so throw in some Santa's, Angels, and Zombies and you are on your way to Crazyland. :) ( )
