Love the magical and mythical elements of the story, as well as the look at loss and found family. Not a fan of the big, strong man part of things. Enjoyed it enough to continue the series. ( ) As the son of the sea god Poseidon, the hero is in ill favor with his father after he finds out he has a son and kidnappers the boy to take custody. The hero, completely ignorant of what to do with a 6 year old boy, takes him to a father son bonding camp for 6 months. Upon arrival the hero saves a young woman from a rape attack. The woman turns out to be the camp organizer, a single parent herself to a 8 year old daughter, she's hesitate to accept the hansom man into her camp 2 weeks before the arrival of the other campers but he paid good money and she's not the owner. That honor goes to her mother in law but the heroine basically runs the whole organization. Unfortunately that's all the plot I can give because there wasn't much of a plot to speak off. This is a typical Janet Chapman novel in that it's contemporary and therefore more than a little boring. There was no drama other than the first initial attempted rape scene and the rest of the book was flat and dull. There was no conflict, no battle to fight or hurls to overcome. Mainly the book is just about a guy and a girl and there two kids living in the camp...that's all. I'm not a fan of these types of books because I want some wonder, some drama but in my experience this genre in severely lacking. Other than the hero being a demi god and talking about magic and immortally, there was little to no supernatural elements to the story. And even those were a side project and not the main event. I was on the fence regarding the heroine as I disliked her attempt to make the hero's boy more ill-behaved and to whiny and pout to get his way. I thought the boy was amazing as is. He was the most well mannered 6 year old on the planet. She also was a self attempted coward and would run from situations faster than a bullet. But at the same time, she was sass the hero for putting his foot down and standing up to her. I did like the hero. He was stoic and calm and put up with a lot of shit for the female he desired. Overall, I can see why some people would enjoy this book, i mean it wasn't bad by any means. It just wasn't my cup my tea. aucune critique | ajouter une critique

Maximilian Oceanus arrives in Spellbound Falls just in time to save Olivia Baldwin from an overly aggressive suitor, only to find himself attracted to the beautiful, if rather aloof, widow. And although Mac has come to Inglenook to get a handle on fatherhood, his newly discovered six-year-old son has set his sights on finding his father a wife. Olivia, however, is busy getting Inglenook ready for its new season, so she doesn't have time to deal with her growing attraction to the dangerously seductive Mac. Besides, weird stuff seems to happen all around him. Take the fact that her seat belt keeps getting stuck in his presence, or locks magically open for him without keys, and that he seems to have a talent for sensing things. Never mind the three lost albatrosses walking down the road in the middle of the night. Since when are there albatrosses in Maine? But despite Olivia's resistance to falling under the sexy man's spell, Olivia is having trouble fighting her longing. Because she knows Mac is just the man to unlock the powerful passion deep within her. . . . Aucune description trouvée dans une bibliothèque |
