I ran through this book within 5 hours because it was hilarious.

All I can say is, this book surprised me. I am a variety reader so I pick any book to read hoping it is good. This book blew me away because it was full of southern charm and hilarious one-liners. The one thing that kept me entertained was the hilarious flirtatious moments between Savannah and Rafe. It is so innocent and cute but we are still reading a mystery and suspense novel here, so stick with me, kids.

This is a murder mystery, and it kept true to it.

The Realtor turned Nancy Drew haha.

Oh yeah, all the critical reviews on the grammars? I did not see too many to give it 3 stars. There was creativity in the way the book was told so if you were actually reading the story, you’d understand that the grammars were written as spoken. Southern accent.

I’ll be reading Savannah’s Murder Mystery #2: Hot Property.

Good read, hadn't figured out the killer until close to the end. ( )

This is apparently the first book written by the author also known as Jennie Bentley. It's a very strong first book with a very well written and planned-out plot. The murderer wasn't at all apparent until the end (at least not to me). There's definite chemistry between Savannah and Rafe, but I didn't find a whole lot to really like about Rafe in this book, other than his caring for his grandmother. Perhaps in subsequent books he becomes a bit softer or more likeable. He sounds hotter than sin though! :)

I'm looking forward to reading additional books in this series, as I think it's one that can go far. ( )

Really enjoyed this book. Characters that were endearing and interesting and a good whodunit plot based around the disappearance of an estate agent/realtor. Nice length and held my interest. Prompted me to seek out other work by the author. ( )

Savannah Martin is trying to build a career as a realtor in Nashville, Tennessee. After two months without making any sales, she answered the phone at the office when a potential client called to say he was supposed to meet Brenda Puckett, one of her colleagues at a house The woman, who happened to be the top salesperson, had not shown up and he had been waiting for 45 minutes.
Savannah drove to the house, which was listed for almost $250,000, and discovered that she knew the client from high school. He was a couple grades ahead of her, looked fantastic, and was one of the bad kids.
When she tried to get the key from the lockbox, it was missing, but she discovered that one of the doors was open. The house was very neglected but she showed him around, starting with the rooms on the second floor. When they got to the first floor, they found Brenda, lying in a pool of blood with her throat cut.
There are a lot of people who didn’t like Brenda including her colleagues and her family. For various reasons, Savannah tries to find out who murdered her. Along the way, another one of the staff is found dead, questions arise about the legality of some of the real estate sales made by Brenda, and Savannah’s mother tries to get Savannah back with a high school boyfriend.
The story moves rather well. The plot is somewhat predictable: one woman, two men from different economic classes, and assorted lying and confusion by some of the characters. Jenna Bennett brings up racism and homophobia with a bit of stereotyping for the latter.
It’s one of a series and I may read some of the others. ( )
