The scenes & activities of A DAY ON THE FARM WITH SAMUEL authentically portray the Amish way of life. Samuel, an eight year old Amish boy, lives on a farm with his parents, brothers, & sisters. Spending the day with Samuel you will witness the simple lifestyle of the Amish people. Going to the mill with Father, playing bag tag with a neighbor boy, & a surprise visit by Aunt Martha are highlights of Samuel's day. The author, J.R. Stoltzfus, was born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, the heart of Amish Country. The author lived most of his life among Amish friends & neighbors & authentically presents a typical day in the life of a young Amish boy. Daphne Krepps Marthouse, an acclaimed artist, skillfully illustrates the scenes & activities in Samuel's day. Daphne's art has won numerous awards in juried shows throughout Pennsylvania & her work is displayed in many private collections across the country.
