In Dev's story, he's haunted by many hurts from his past including his time in the war and the abandonment by his mother. It all helps him bond with Emmie who has her own secrets. They fall in love quickly, but can't find a way to be together. In the end, they get their happily ever after.
This wasn't terribly exciting, but it was a good read for me and I enjoyed it. Can't wait for Val's book. ( )
