"Jacqueline 'Jack' Davis is a reporter for the Lookout Ledger bent on discovering the truth and nabbing her story at any cost. When Noah Jeffers comes to Lookout as a temporary pastor, Jack suspects there may be something hidden beneath his shepherding ways. Soon, though, Jack begins to be attracted to the new pastor despite her initial hesitation. But as she uncovers the truth, will this story cost her too much? Noah Jeffers is the new preacher in town. Jackie Davis is determined to get the scoop on his past for a newspaper article. Besides being handsome, she finds out he's way more than she bargained for.

Garret Corbett has calmed his wild ways and wants to settle down with a good, decent, honorable woman. When ex-outlaw Carly Payton comes back to town, he can't stop thinking about her. Will his prejudice against her jailbird reputation blind him to the caring, domestic woman she's become?

And who is the culprit behind recent robberies in town?

Thoroughly enjoyable. A sweet story full of secrets, memorable characters, and "Aww moments" that warm your heart.

FINALLY A BRIDE by Vickie McDonough is an inspirational historical romance set in 1896 Lookout,Texas. It is the third and final installment in the "Boardinghouse Brides",
but can be read as a stand alone.THE ANONYMOUS BRIDE (Book One), SECOND CHANCE BRIDES (Book Two). If you take a spunky tomboy, who is a young woman now,the town bully, who is a preacher now,an unusual impostor, who was a mail order bride, who was an outlaw, now an ex-convict and the last of the mail order brides you have just another day in Lookout,Texas' Boardinghouse Brides.A wonderful inspirational romance full of wit, humor, love, romance, forgiveness, redemption, faith, acceptance and the beginning of true happiness. This is the story of not one but two love stories that intertwine. One is Carly, the last mail order bride,an ex-convict and Garrett, the sheriff's cousin, was a prankster, the last of the sheriff's unmarried cousins.Than you have Jaqueline,(Jack), an rambunctious tomboy, who wants to be a reporter and Noel, the once town bully, now a traveling preacher.Although, now one but the sheriff realizes who he is,he is trying to make retribution for his past mistakes and dealings. He is also in love with Jack and has been for at least ten years. This is story ten years after Second Chance Brides.
What a great way to end this series. It is fast paced, page turning, from the beginning to the end for Jack can get into so much trouble still, even as a grown woman. This inspirational story of the Boardinghouse Brides, their love, faith, romance, challenges, and the true loves will have you wanting things to go their way. While this one does not have the mystery like the others it does have a great ending. This book was received for the purpose of review from Net Galley and the publisher and details can be found at Barbour Publishing and My Book Addiction Reviews. Jacqueline “Jack” is now 10 years older and all grown up. She wants to be a reporter for the big city of Dallas but first feels like she needs a big story for her small down of Lookout to get there. She is still the tomboy you know and love from the first two books but she is now a woman. She is hot on the trail of the Mayor as she feels he is hiding something for the city and she will do just about anything to get the story.Noah finds himself back in Lookout now as the preacher not the troublemaker he was 10 years ago. The town does not know its him and either does Jack. Noah has never forgotten her and he hopes to show her and the town that he is a changed man and maybe he can even win her heart.Carly who was the 3rd mail order bride is also back in the final book. She has served her time in jail and now wants to start her life in Lookout if the town’s people will except her. Garret is finally ready to settle down and find the right woman and he find’s himself with growing feelings for Carly but will he be able to put her past behind them both and find true love? Its always bitter sweet to come to the final book in a series like this because you have come to know the characters very well and this is the final chapter. The book did not disappoint! Jack is such a fun character she had me laughing a lot and shaking my head at some of her silly attempts at getting the story. Jack also had to face her abuse from her first father in this book as she comes to care for Noah. I really like how the author touches on some sensitive subjects but includes humor and a realness that just makes the book great. The side store of Carly and Garret was okay. Again this could have been its own book. These characters again seem to get short changed and never get to fully develop like the lead characters did. It was a good story though and I was glad to see everyone find happiness in the end.Over all a great ending to a fun series. When I was done reading this book I felt the story had been fully told and did not leave me wishing for another book like some series I have read. If you like western romance then this is a great series and a must read! I am looking forward to reading more books from this author.DISCLOSURE: I was provided a free copy of this ebook from the publisher through NetGalley to review it. I was not required to write a positive review and the opinions I have expressed are my own.Full Review: http://abbiesreadingcorner.blogspot.com/2011/04/finally-bride-by-vickie-mcdonoug... ( )

Lookout, Texas
August 1896

Jacqueline Davis had done a lot of daring things in her life, but this deed had been foolhardy. She held up her skirt with one hand, holding her free arm out for balance, and slid her foot across the roof's wooden shakes.
