E. B. White started writing in high school and wrote for many news sources and journals, including The New Yorker and Harper's magazine. He is most famous for writing Stuart Little, Charlotte's Web, and The Trumpet of the Swan, as well as The Elements of Style.

This book, which spans most of the important events in White's life, is written in a large type. There is a lot of white space on each page, which makes it not seems overwhelming to a young reader. There are photographs of E.B. White every couple of pages. There is a table of contents. This book is written like an essay; there are headings for each different topic written about. Ages 7 - 11.
