Considering this is the first book I began to read in the series, and it is the book that actually got me to buy the trilogy...I found that I didn't enjoy this as much as I thought I would when I began reading it in an isle at work.

Flight of the Fire Thief starts off great, full of sarcasm and quick witted comments that keep you power reading through the pages. However what I felt made this book flop was that I had expected it to be a follow on with the same people from the first. When I discovered that in actual fact Theus had met up with new people it actually made me fairly disappointed.

The thing is, with changing perspectives, you'd expect a character change too, so their personalities aren't the exact same, with a different up bringing. The author kept the same character personality and changed only the name and how they were living.

I enjoyed parts of this book and it will most likely appeal to many young readers developing a sense of humour, but I found that aside from Theus being hunted -continuing from the previous book- the story was just regurgitated from the previous one in the series, which is a shame because I really was looking forward to these.

The sarcasm and wit in this one is so much like The Fire Thief, that I actually got bored of it and the little annotations at the bottom began to get ignored because it just goes on and on. you know kinda like when you're reading something and then a little bit to much information is being given, and suddenly you just zone out and wonder why you are actually bothering to read it because its not actually holding.......

Yeah... like that.

I probably wont read the next one, but I will keep the books as they are nice to look at. haha

Children's fiction; action/adventure/mythology. Terry Deary's story about Prometheus and his friends isn't as good as Riordan's Percy Jackson series, but it will satisfy readers who are looking for readalikes. ( )

The Flight of the Fire Thief is a book that doesn't let you go until the last word has been read. It is also about a Prometheus in a different year. He has gone back in time to look for a hero that saved a town once. He has gone back a hundred years back were the hero saw in the temple of the hero. A temple he saw in the town he went to in Britain. The town he has visited is at war with the natives. A great wooden wall has been built and with it comes no supplies. Though a man with a hot air balloon, has stolen from the people of the town they agree to let him live as long as he goes to the nearest town and gets supplies for them. He agrees but little does he know is that he is in direct line of the heroes tale.

When I read this book the only reason I put it down was because I was school and teachers were having a lesson. But even still I read it in about two and a half hours. It was just that good that I wouldn't put it down. If you ever get the chance to read this book the read it. It is a book for anyone that can read, it is easy to understand. I thought it wouldn't be very good but it turned out to be awesome. This book ia an awesome thrill of mystery and fiction all blended into one.

Flight of the Fire Theif is the secomd book in a short series. This book is similar to the first because it has a same concept. Flight of the Fire Theif also invlves Theus enexpectingly help robbers acheive their goal. This novel is mainly still about Theus finding a human hero. On his quest, he is persauded to help a girl and her uncle steal money from a town. But on their journey, they are caught by "killer" indians.
I liked this book a lot. I even think it was better than the first one. I mainly liked the comedy thrown in with it. I especialy like the comedy between Zeus and Hera. My absolute favorite part of the book was the circus acts that the girl preforms. They sound really funny. I hope that there is at least one more book in the series. ( )
