[edit] Overview
Member Reviews are where you get to share your opinion of a book with others. Links to your review on another site are acceptable; copying a review that you did not write is not.
[edit] Writing a Review
You can write or edit your reviews from several places. The work 'review' page contains a review box at the top where you can input your review. You can also edit your book by choosing the
edit icon in your catalog or the 'edit book' button at the top of the work page for any work you have cataloged. The review field available there can be expanded by clicking on 'more space'. Reviews will accept some basic html formatting.
[edit] Features
[edit] Sorting
You can sort reviews by language, by date, or by votes (thumbs). Clicking 'date' or 'votes' twice will reverse the order of sort, allowing you to sort by oldest or newest, or by most or fewest votes.
[edit] Thumbs
Members who like your review, whether they agree with what you have to say or simply find it well-written and interesting, can give the review a thumbs up. A number next to the thumbs indicates how many thumbs the review has received; a green thumb next to a review indicates that you have already 'thumbed' that review.
[edit] Languages
Choosing a language for your review helps other users find reviews in their own language. You can also see at a glance how many reviews have been written in (and assigned to) a particular language, and then filter by that language.
The default language for reviews is the user's default language, as set on the profile page, but this may be changed at any time for individual reviews by editing the review. You can also power edit review language's. Only a review's author may set a review's language.

[edit] Flags
Members can flag reviews in two ways.
Red flags indicate that a review violates the terms of service, including violations such as spam reviews and posting copyrighted material without permission.
Blue flags indicate that a review is 'not a review'. "Not a review" is not intended for short reviews, poorly-written reviews or reviews you disagree with.
If a review has been flagged as not a review and you feel the flagging is not appropriate, you can click 'flag this review' and choose 'Not a review? Oh yes it is!'
[edit] Linking to a Review
You can link to a specific review by clicking on the
'permanent link' icon. This will take you to that review's page, where the review in question will appear at the top of the page and all other reviews will appear below it. Simply copy the URL in your browser's address box to link to the review.
