New month. New thread.

Still reading An Alchemy of Masques and Mirrors by Curtis Craddock. Really enjoying this one.

Also still reading Shadow of Night by Deborah Harkness.

Just finished Sorcerer to the Crown (eta where I was in an alternative Regency England). And now I'm at a crossroad because I have three books due to go back on Overdrive. I shall have to plan my route carefully.

I’m now leaving Park City, Utah where I was In a Holidaze. It’s a feel-good winter romance rather than a fantasy but it does have an element of time travel.

Hmm ... where to, now?

I'm still in Celi with The King of Shadows but I'm also spending some time trying to hear The Bell at Sealey Head.

Kind of a mixed read/re-read with New Moon by Midori Snyder.

I read books 2 and 3 of this series decades ago, but I don't think I ever actually read book 1. Given how long it's been I'm surprised at how much of the plot I feel like I "remember" via having picked it up through inference in the other two books.

Spending time in the Grisha-verse with Ruin and Rising.

I've been fairly "meh" about this series thus far, but figured I might as well finish it up before the tv series hits.

> 8 Yeah, I bought them used, and that's one reason I'm taking so long to read through them -- I keep getting distracted by other books on my ereader.

I'm on the planet Pashati seeing what goes on Behind the Throne. (Sorry, more science fiction again than fantasy.)

I’m alternating between Smokehill National Park which is a Dragonhaven for my bedtime reading and another alternative Earth with Mister Monday looking for the Keys to the Kingdom on Overdrive. They’re both off to a bit of a slow start but Mister Monday is a re-read and the last time I read it I gave it 4.5 stars.

I finished Hero of Ages and therefore Mistborn: Era 1. It was really good, but not one of my all-time favorites. One thing that Brandon Sanderson really does well is structuring the story (and the trilogy as a whole). Everyone and everything has a role (even if the reader doesn't immediately know what that is) and everything ties together at the end. There are some little signs and hints in the first book that don't really have significance until near the end of the third. There were a few sloggy parts though, and I didn't completely buy into a lot of the characters.

I have decided to take a break from Cosmere and try something completely different, with Under Heaven, by Guy Gavriel Kay.
