A propos de ma bibliothèque
Our collection consists primarily of books that speak to the lives and experiences of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer and/or questioning people and their allies.

We accept donations of books on diverse topics such as spirituality & religion, health, human rights, marriage and family, history & culture, biography, etc. as they relate to the lives of GLBT people. We also accept donations of fiction in which the main characters are GLBT. We will eventually include a wish list in our catalog to identify those books that we would like to carry but do not yet have.
A propos de moi
The Flores-Chien Community Library at MCC Hartford is a ministry of the Metropolitan Community Church of Hartford and is operated for the benefit of the LGBT community in the greater Hartford region. It is supported entirely by donations. The library is staffed by volunteers from the church and various community organizations, under the direction of church staff.

The library was founded over 20 years ago by church members as the Warren Bacon Community Library. Eventually, the church ran out of space to house the collection and it was donated to Project 100, the Hartford LGBT Community Center. By the time the community center closed in 2007, MCC Hartford had relocated to larger quarters and was able to resume operation of the library. We have also acquired a smaller collection that had been housed at a local café. In January 2011, MCC Hartford dedicated the library in honor of their retiring pastors, the Revs. Julio Flores and George A. Chien.

Metropolitan Community Church of Hartford exists to offer everyone the opportunity to experience the liberating love of Christ.
