À mon sujetI love to read. I have always loved to read. Now that I have raised my family (three beautiful daughters) I have more time for this passion. I live on the beach of one of the many beautiful shorelines in Michigan. I feel very blessed in life and love. Presently I am still working as nurse (a profession I very much love) but lately I am looking forward to retiring to my beautiful beach home with more time for enjoying my books and attacking that rapidly growing to be read list.

I actually keep my "wishlist" at Borders.com. But then it seems like I end up buying other interesting books that aren't even on it. It seems like I'll never get to read all the books I have, as I keep finding more to buy (my husband teases me about this!)
So, are you going to buy all the books on your wish list? :) I see we "share" the James Patterson Women's Murder Club books, just wondering if you've enjoyed them. I have 3 of them and haven't started reading them yet!
Hi! Nice to meet you!
Hey Bookbroke,
Tell me what you thought of Swimsuit after you finish, if you wouldn't mind.

I put The Time Traveler's Wife aside which is very odd for me.

Also, out of curiosity, what part of Michigan? I spent a good bit of my childhood traveling from our farm in KY to My Mom's family in many areas from Detroit to Sand Lake and further north.

Would be interested in any recommendations of authors as you read much the same as I, if you have a bit. I am taking 10 days off with my husband this Friday & we are traveling in our 5th wheel. I am taking a couple new authors with me. Harlan Coben, Patricia Cornwwell, Ed McBain. So ready for our fall escape.

Good to meet you on LT.

It looks like you have some good books to read this year. There are several that I saw you had listed that I would not mind reading when you are done with them. I have your Handle with Care, I can get it back to you so you can read it because I will not have time in the near future to read it.

Hi Ellen, I clicked on your name from my home page, just hopping around LT as I often do, and I am amazed to see that we do not have even one book in common despite our both having rather large libraries. I will be checking your page again as I catalog more books, mainly to see if we ever have any books in common. I have an incredible amount of books still to be cataloged so we may have some in common yet. I thought that I was a well-rounded reader but I am doubting myself now. I will check out your library today and see what I have been missing! MB
I could hardly put those books down. Working is getting in the way of my reading. Summer is coming.
I have been reading as much as I can between working. I like this site.
I just started another Ted Dekker book. I'll save it for you.
Hi,
I'm sitting here with my significant other (my dog Chip) and adding and checking out ooks -new and old.
Chip has become a fan of Spenser Quinn, author of Dog On It. It;s very good. I have the Audible audio and
we have enoyed it greatly. As I type (sort of) I;m listening to Blake Bailey's biography of John Cheever.
Well done. Cheever was a troubled soul. It seems to have been a male family trait.
I ope all is well with you as the weather gets better. MJ
Thank you! I am already loving this site! :)
Looks as though we have a lot of the same books in our libraries, and similar tastes! :)
Hi Ellen,
Thank you for responding! It does seem that we enjoy many of the same books. What a nice feature of LibraryThing to allow book lover to meet electronically. Happy readin! MJ
I wnted to add you as a friend becuase we seem to have alot of books and authors in common.
Hi Ellen....yes, I was browsing around here on LT and saw how many books we have in common! Looks like we have very similar taste. Do you participate with BookMooch? It's a good way to pass on your books, and get new ones for free (sort of). I know what you mean about hanging out on LT too much ~ this place is EVIL!! LOL I always end up buying more books when I am active on this site. I'm trying to cut back, we have cupboards full of books waiting to be read....at least my hubby is a reader too (thank God!). Well, take care and happy reading!
bookbroke?

I have never seen your name until it showed up on my homepage..
Wonderful screen name!

Do you participate in the forums??

It looks as if we have similar taste in books.. :)

just stopped by to say hello!

I saw your name because you just added The Finder, a book I've been obsessing about buying for months. I LOVE the name "bookbroke". So clever, and (in my case too) so accurate! :)
I definitely add books quicker than I can read them - and I usually have an audio going as well. So I'm trying twice as fast to get through them all but it's a losing battle.
Yes - that's exactly what I was asking (sorry for not being more clear) I may have to go to a similiar system I have post-it notes listing books and series I want to read all stacking up. There never is enough time to get to all the books we want to read is there?
TBR and TBR2? To Be Read?
Bookbroke,

Thanks for becoming my friend.

Mom - Did you finish Memory Keeper's Daughter yet? I just finished it today. I really enjoyed it - I wrote a review on my site. You can check it out. I'm going to pick up Love in the Time of Cholera again - I had started it before the holiday but put it down for what I thought was a lighter read!
