A propos de ma bibliothèque

About my library
My library, in a nutshell, is a work in progress. As I somehow manage to not die and to continuously meet new people I find that my tastes change and, furthermore, that I don't mind.

I have catalogued here the books, both physical and digital, that I have purchased and therefore own in the traditional sense. Free ebooks from Project Gutenberg, online magazines and similar sources are not included in this catalogue unless I've actually read them through or consulted them, and they, therefore, occupy a non-trivial spot on my mental shelves.

My reading tastes are fairly straightforward, I'd say: I'm a linguist who browses through mainstream fiction as well as genre fiction -- science fiction, fantasy, crime and, sporadically, horror. In recent years I've rediscovered the joys of reading non-fiction in areas outside my specialization -- mainly history, archaeology and some popular-sciency works on biology, physics and cosmology. Neither am I averse to a little young adult fiction now and then.

If this seems superficial and unsystematic, it's because I read large quantities of specialist literature in my day job, so when I read for pleasure my choice is generally influenced by my short attention span, friends' recommendations, and how mentally acute I happen to be feeling.

About my reading
These are the books and separately published novellas/short stories that I read in the last few years:
2022 | 2021 | 2020 | 2019 | 2018 | 2017 | 2016 | 2015

A propos de moi
I’m an immigrant and a linguist, trying to avoid living an uncomfortable life. I probably like a sunset, a hug and the feeling of a job well done as much as anyone else. I believe I would enjoy being ambidextrous (I’m right-handed). Sometimes I get wordy.
