À mon sujetI started reading when I was 3...and have been addicted ever since. I loved being able to read and sound things out and was almost murdered by my family when I was around 5 I read everything around me...out loud. It didn't matter what it was road signs, boxes, windows...really I am lucky to still be alive. *lol*

hi there, I'm a local Northboro librarything.com member and saw you on the list for other members close to me. I wanted to tell you that I have just recently opened up used/new bookstore right in Northboro at Times Square Plaza right next to Romaine's restaurant at the junction of W. main st and Rt 20. If you love books and talking books, and talking librarything.com come on by and check out the store. I was introduced to librarything by one of my other new store customers who also lives in Shrewsbury. Not too many people know about my store yet so I'm trying to reach out to all the local avid readers and collectors. You can also check out my ad and some store pictures on craigslist. Hope to see you soon and would love to meet new avid reader friends.

Are you going to start a 2010 challenge thread?
I love your profile pic!
I would like to talk to you about your article "Harry Potter/Wizard's Hall" you made false accusations about the reasons of her bringing this topic of discussion up, it was not of jealousy. Next time you post an article be sure to get your facts straight about the comparison and the author. What do you have against Jane Yolen, do you know her.
If you have nothing nice to say about her please, just don't next time.
Please to respond to this, I would LOVE to hear your response.
I want to be a lawyer when I grow up, and would love to discuss this with you.

m

PS. If you think Jane Yolen "talks down" to her children audiences you have another think coming.
Noticed you liked The Bluest Eye, and I was wondering if you'd be interested in reviewing my new novel and posting your comments here as well as a few other book-related sites. Thought you might like my book since it's also southern and a bit dark. I could e-mail you the novel in an e-book format if you'd like (I'm out of physical copies at the moment). Let me know if you're interested. Here's a link to a summary in case you're interested:

Thanks,

Love The Poo Pile!!! The only one I attempted to read was The Book Group....no patience for it!

Miz.Honey from New Jersey USA
I got a copy of Deliverance Dane too! Have you started it yet?
Hi Gail,

Sorry, but I just got back on the site 3-1, a little late for Santa. But for what it's worth my favorite Sayers is "The Nine Tailors".

Regards,

Pat
I'm so glad to hear you enjoyed it! I'm also glad you were able to get it bound, it really is a total pain to try and read unbound proofs. I know it is a quick read LOL! It is amazing to me it took so long to write and it is so short to read. My main goal was for people to be entertained by the story, I hope it worked :-)
Oh, got it that time -- that is funny! Thank goddess it's over!
Um, the link you sent me on my profile page links to my own profile page. That's funny....
Thanks for the invite! I don't think I can handle another group atm but I appreciate the thought!
my new blog addy is http://bethshobbies.blogspot.com/

you will have to let me know what you think.
Just saw your comment about my own blog. Dunno I try the blog thing periodically and its like all the diaries I started over the years (hint notice plural) I really get into it for a while then I get bored and never touch it again.

my mum is the blogger in our family LOL
And you do it so well :)
Didn't even notice!

Thanks for the heads up.
I just got my SantaThing books and saw they were from you. Thank you so much!! What great ideas. I've been wanting to read The Book Thief, and even checked it out of the library last year, but it came due before I made it far, so now I look forward to reading that and Sayers soon. Actually, I've never read a Dorothy Sayers book before, but she's in one of my 999 Challenge categories (come to think of it, The Book Thief could go toward Australian novels). I'm rambling . . . just wanted to say thanks! :)
I'm seeing the joy in the spreadsheet tracking - may have to take that up in 09.
Maybe it was Creepers... I can't remember lol. I request more books than I ought to, but receive so few that I forget what I've requested. I really should keep better track of that info.

And I've never received any emails about an online book release, so forward those on!!
Apparently I had requested something from the on Shelf Awareness, and that's how they got my name. I have no idea which book it was that I requested, but it was still a pleasant surprise all the same!
The one from Running Press? Yep! That was a surprise.
Thanks for the comment on tapestry100's SantaThing. Castle Waiting really is a great work. I had found it on my own sometime late last fall and then the coolest person I know turns around and gives it to me for Christmas!! It was nice to have that validation and now to add your own is great too! Best for the holidays! /rgh
Excellent, thanks!
Hi there! I saw your comment looking for Sayers recommendations for your Santathing person. Murder Must Advertise is a good one, probably the best one for someone new to Sayers. A lot of people consider The Nine Tailors to be her best, but I'd only recommend it for someone already into Sayers.

She also did a series of four books that aren't really marketed as a series but almost have to be read in order: Strong Poison, Have His Carcase, Gaudy Night, and Busman's Honeymoon. They are excellent (my personal favorites), but I mostly mention them so that you don't get one of the later ones for someone who hasn't read the earlier ones.
