Bibliothèque(s) préférée(s)Anderson Public Library - Main Library

À propos de ma bibliothèqueI have a tiny room upstairs with wall to wall bookshelves. It serves as my library and office but my books tend to wander onto tables, the floor next to my chair, the bathroom and vehicles!
I am addicted to bookstores, libraries, other peoples real and virtual bookshelves.. I had to upgrade to a lifetime account, "acceptance" being the first step in an any addiction. Now to find my cuecat; here kitty kitty...

En cours de lectureDon't Bother Me Mom--I'm Learning! par Marc Prensky

Our library sales are so unorganized that it is mostly a headache. We go to St. Vincent DePaul and other thrift shops a lot. Of course, we spent a small fortune at Barnes and Noble and Amazon.com.

We homeschool because my son was reading Harry Potter books when he would've been in kindergarten. I could'nt very well send him to learn "a says aaah like apple". Also, our schools don't really have the kids read too much. I'm not sure why. We only had a short period of SSR (sustained silent reading). That was a joke!!! We just wrote notes. So now my son is just about to turn 13 and my daughter is just about to turn 7. She wasn't reading early like my son, but she didn't want to go to school and we already had all the materials, so we homeschool her as well.
Hi Deb--I saw that the Anderson Public Library is your favorite library. I have spent very little time in the current building. It's still the "new" library to me, since I was leaving Anderson about the time it became the library. But as a child and teen, the old Carnegie library in Anderson wasn't just my favorite library, it was one of my two favorite places in the world. :)
From the looks of your library we seem to have some similar interests.

Hi! We are also practically neighbors! I saw that you are in Indiana. I am up in Green Bay, WI. Very very lonely up here:-) Almost all of the homeschoolers are fundamentalists.
Deb,
Thanks for adding my library to your list of interesting libraries. Enjoyed your description of your home library! I just bet its your favorite room in the house.

Cheers
Barry
Hi Deb,

I have also added you to my "Interesting Libraries" list. I just took a look at your collection and added a few to my Amazon Wish List. We used to live in Indianapolis.

Take care,
Ann
Read your terrific review of "Weekends at Bellevue". Coincidentally, noticing you are from Indiana, I visited Indianapolis for the first time ever last week ... what a great place. Enjoyed the downtown and the Eitelborg (sp?) Museum.
I'll be checking back to see what you are adding!

Cheers
