Sanctuary Cities: Opposing Viewpoints Series.
by Marcia Amidon Lusted.
Greenhaven Publishing.
2019.

What is a Sanctuary City??
Who do they protect??
Are crimes rates higher??
Do Sanctuary Cities undermine National Security.....do they help maintain democracy??
This book will help you to focus on the opposing views of the arguments for and against Sanctuary Cities, so a person can make an educated opinion.
A fantastic look into the history and policies of Sanctuary Cities; which were first established in Northern cities during the Civil War to protect fugitives, to ensure they were treated with human dignity; to the Trump campaign of fear and hatred of anything "other". This is insightful and shows both sides of the argument. Pro and Con. It is an example of why critical thinking and analytical skills are so important. Reading opposing views are essential to understanding.
I highly recommend reading this.
My complete review is on Goodreads.
